Membership Rules & Regulations

REGISTRATION


You must be 21 or older at the time of registration to be a member of The Krewe.


Registration secures your spot in The Krewe, for which there are a limited number. You must register and pay the membership fee every year to hold your spot in The Krewe, even if you intend not to march. Failure to register, will result in the loss of your membership and your name will be placed on the waitlist for future membership consideration.


Each year, current members will receive an email inviting them to register.


Each member must complete (or update) a separate profile when registering. Upon completion of your profile and acknowledgement of The Krewe’s rules and regulations, you will be taken to the payment screen.


Upon successful payment, you will receive payment confirmation. Ensure that your confirmation is correct. Contact the Coordinator if the payment information is incorrect or you did not receive your confirmation (please allow 24 hours). Current members will have 1 month to register and pay dues. Failure to register during those 4 weeks and your membership spot will be offered to someone on the waitlist.


If you allow a non-member to register using your email invite and their registration will be canceled.


Registration fee will be reimbursed only if membership is canceled before December 31st.


YEARLY MEMBERSHIP DUES INCLUDE


  • An official Krewe pin
  • A custom-made Krewe goblet
  • 1 dozen Krewe logo beads
  • Option to attend the Grand Marshall Wine Dinner (for an added fee)
  • Attendance to the Grand Marshall Meet & Greet Party, the evening before the parade
  • Parade day Bloody Mary Block Party (in front of the Court of Two Sisters)
  • Parade day luncheon at the Court of Two Sisters.
  • Parade participation through the French Quarter
  • The King & Queen’s post-parade party at the Royal Sonesta
  • Option to attend member luncheons (for an added fee) throughout the year


PARADE DAY RULES


  1. 1. You must be in costume to participate in parade day activities
  2. 2. Seating requests for the parade day luncheon must be provided to the Coordinator no later than the Friday before Parade day.
  3. 3. Your throws can be store bought or hand-made
  4. 4. Absolutely no glass while parading through the French Quarter (bottles, wine glasses, throws, etc.)
  5. 5. Keep up with the parade and keep the parade moving. This is very important for your safety, as well as the safety of your fellow members that are parading behind you.
  6. 6. Follow instructions given by The Krewe Captain, The Krewe Lieutenants, and/or The Krewe Security. They are there for your safety.
  7. 7. Drink responsibly
  8. 8. Failure to show on parade day and participate, you forfeit your dues.
  9. 9. If you are unable to participate in parade day, you may have another member pick up your pin, goblet and beads. The request must be sent to the Coordinator prior to parade day. The Krewe will not mail any member their pin(s), goblet(s) or beads in the event parade day activities are missed.
  10. 10. If you are unable to walk in the parade, you may participate and ride in a pedi-cab if:
  11. 10.a. Verification that you are unable to walk in the parade is provided to the coordinator two weeks prior to parade day
  12. 10.b. Written approval by the coordinator is received to use the pedi-cab during the parade
  13. 10.c. You must arrange and pay for your own pedi-cab
  14. 10.d. All pedi-cabs will be at the back of the parade, behind all those members who are walking
  15. 10.e. Any pedi-cab not approved prior to the parade, will not be allowed in the parade


Parade Day Substitutes


If you are unable to march, you may have someone march in your place. The requirements for a substitute are as follows:


  1. 1. Must be 21 or older
  2. 2. The Krewe Coordinator must be notified and the following to be completed no later than the Monday before parade day
  3. 2.a. a transfer fee of $50 paid to The Krewe
  4. 2.b. The name of your substitute, along with their email address and phone number must be provided to the Coordinator.
  5. 2.c. Your substitute will be provided a copy of the rules and regulations by email and will be asked to agree to them prior to parade day.
  6. 2.d. Your substitute must provide an ID upon check-in on parade day
  7. 3. Failure to complete all steps outlined in #2, your substitute will not be allowed to participate in any parade day activities.
  8. 4. The Krewe will not have any responsibilities in regards to any money exchanged between you and your substitute (i.e., you want the substitute to reimburse your membership fee and/or the transfer fee)
  9. 5. Your parade day items (goblet, pin, beads) will be given to your substitute, including any additional beads that were pre-purchased.


LUNCHEON RULES:


  1. 1. To locate The Krewe’s luncheons, you must login to the member page, where you will find a link identified as Luncheon/Dinner Calendar. The dates and location of The Krewe’s luncheons and the Grand Marshal Wine Dinner will be listed there. Luncheons will be announced to members via email and on Facebook. If you wish to RSVP for a luncheon, do so by clicking the RSVP link at the top of the page.
  2. 2. The RSVP link for any luncheon will not be active until the announcement has been issued.
  3. 3. You must RSVP and pay on-line. You are not confirmed until the payment is received.
  4. 4. You may RSVP and pay for yourself and another KOC member(s).
  5. 5. You will also be able to cancel your reservation on-line, if you are unable to make it to the luncheon. However, cancellations must be submitted no later than 10:00 pm the Sunday before the luncheon, at which time, the link to cancel the reservation will be deactivated and your payment will not be refunded.
  6. 6. With the exception of the luncheon in December at G.W. Fins and the parade day luncheon, all luncheons will be open seating. As a courtesy to your fellow Corkians, we request that each member only save 1 additional seat.
  7. 7. Drink responsibly
  8. 8. After every luncheon, everyone is invited to Patrick’s Bar Vin. This is not included in the cost of the luncheon, is not a requirement nor is it for members only. Please invite your friends to come out and have a drink at Bar Vin!
